3. काय0काल

(i)

स1म3त का काय0काल इसके गठन क2 तारख से तीन वष0 अथवा वत0मान लोकसभा के काय0काल क2 समािJत तक, इनमi से जो

भी पहले हो, होगा परतु स1म3त मi नाम 3नद0Uट संसद सदDय, संसद के सदDय न रहने के समय से इस स1म3त के भी

सदDय नहं रहiगे; और

(ii)

अवध समाJत होने से पहले Rरhत Dथान पर 3नयुhत सदDय, स1म3त क2 शेष रह अवध के 1लए ह सदDय हlगे।

4. सामाय

(i)

स1म3त का मु"यालय नई दल मi होगा परतु यह अपनी बैठक +कसी अय Dथान पर भी आयोिजत कर सकती है ; और

(ii)

गैर सरकार सदDयl को उनके 3नवास Dथान से बैठक के Dथान तक सबसे कम दूर वाले राDते से उनक2 पाता संबंधी दरl पर

याा भMता दया जाएगा । उहi स1म3त क2 बैठक मi शा1मल होने के 1लए उoच अधकार %ाJत स1म3त के सदDयl को यथा

D वीकृत दै3नक भMता भी दया जाएगा ।

आदेश दया जाता है +क इस संकप क2 %3त राUpप3त सचवालय/%धान मंी काया0लय/मं>मंडल सचवालय/संसदय काय0

इस स1म3त के काय0 उपभोhता मामले, खा(य और साव0ज3नक

काया0लयl को सरकार कामकाज मi हद के %गामी %योग से संबंधत
वषयl तथा गृह मंालय (राजभाषा
वभाग) (वारा 3नधा0Rरत नी3त संबंधी ढांचे

के अंतग0त आने वाले मामलl पर सलाह देना होगा।

3. काय0काल

इस स1म3त का काय0काल इसके पुनग0ठन क2 तारख से तीन वष0 तक होगा, परतु -

(क)

जो संसद सदDय स1म3त के सदDय ह}, वे संसद सदDय न रहने पर इस स1म3त के सदDय भी नहं रहiगे।

(ख)

स1म3त के पदेन सदDय उस समय तक सदDय बने रहiगे जब तक +क वे अपने-अपने उन पदl पर ह} िजनके कारण वे स1म3त के

सदDय ह}।

(ग)

यद +कसी सदDय के Mयाग-प देने, मृMयु आद के कारण स1म3त मi कोई Dथान Rरhत होता है तो उसके Dथान पर 3नयुhत

+कया गया सदDय तीन वष0 के काय0काल क2 शेष अवध के 1लए सदDय रहेगा।

4. सामाय

स1म3त का %धान काया0लय नई दल मi होगा, +कतु स1म3त अपनी बैठकi +कसी अय Dथान पर भी कर सकती है।

5. याा भMता और अय भMते

स1म3त क2 बैठकl मi भाग लेने के 1लए गैर-सरकार सदDयl को राजभाषा

2. The functions of the Samiti will be to advise the Central Government on matters relating to the implementation of the

principles in respect of Official Language as given in the Constitution, the Official Languages Act,1963 and the Rules made

thereunder, the policy decisions of the Kendriya Hindi Samiti and instructions issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs

(Department of Official Language) relating to Official Language with regard to the progressive use of Hindi in the Ministry

of Law and Justice (Legislative Department and Department of Legal Affairs).

3. TENURE :

(i) The tenure of the Samiti will be of three years from the date of its reconstitution or till the end of the tenure of the existing

Lok Sabha, whichever is earlier, provided that a Member of Parliament nominated to the Samiti shall cease to be a member

of the Samiti as soon as he ceases to be a Member of Parliament; and

(ii) The Members appointed against mid-term vacancies shall be the Members for the remaining period of the tenure of the

Samiti.

4. GENERAL :

(i) The Headquarters of the Samiti shall be at New Delhi but it may hold the meetings at any other station also.

(ii) The non-official Members will be paid travelling allowance by shortest route from their residence to the place of meeting

as per their entitlement. They will also be paid daily allowance as admissible to the members of a High Powered Committee

for attending the meetings of the Samiti.

II. Functions of Samiti

The Samiti would render advice to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and all offices

under its Administrative Control on matter relating to the progressive use of Hindi for official purpose and on allied issues

falling within the framework of the policy laid down by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Department of Official Language).

III.

Tenure

The term of the Samiti will be three years from the date of its reconstitution provided that :

(a)

a member who is a Member of Parliament ceases to be a member of the Samiti as long as he ceases to be a Member

of Parliament;

(b)

ex-officio members of the Samiti shall continue as members as long as they hold office by virtue of which they are

members of the Samiti;

(c)

if a vacancy arises on the Samiti due to resignation, death, etc. of a member, the member appointed in that capacity

shall hold office for the residual term of three years.

IV.

General

The Headquarters of the Samiti shall be in New Delhi but it may hold its meetings at any other station also.

V.

Travelling and Other Allowances

The non-official member will be paid travelling and daily allowance, for attending the meeting of the Samiti as

contained in the guidelines issued by the Department of Official Language vide their O.M. No. II.20034/4/86-OL(A-2)

dated 22.1.1987 and as per prescribed rate and rule amended by Government of India from time to time.

Administration, Prime Minister’s Office, Cabinet Secretariat, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Lok Sabha Secretariat,
