No. 3-1/2015-Skt-I—The Government of India constituted a Society in 1987, namely, Rashtriya Veda Vidya

Pratisthan at Ujjain with the object to preserve, conserve and develop the oral tradition of vedic studies for which the

Pratisthan will undertake various activities, such as support traditional vedic institutions and scholars, provide fellowships,

scholarships etc. It has been registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860 (XXI of 1860) No. 17451 in 1987. In May

1993, the name of the Pratisthan was changed to Maharshi Sandipani Rashtriya Ved Vidya Pratisthan, Ujjain.

2. In supersession to this Ministry’s Notification No. 6-7/2009-Skt-II dt. 24.5.2010, it is notified that the constitution

of General Body, Governing Council and Finance Committee, in term of Rule 4, 11 & 15 respectively of the Rules of

Maharshi Sandipani Rashtriya Ved Vidya Pratisthan, Ujjain will be as follows, for five years, w.e.f. the date of issue of this

2.

FUNCTION OF THE COMMITTEE

The function of the Committee will be to review the position and tender advice in regard to progressive use of Hindi

for official purpose in the Ministry of Culture, its Attached/Subordinate Offices/Autonomous Bodies etc. in accordance with

the Constitutional provisions regarding Official Language, Policy decisions of the Kendriya Hindi Samiti, Official Language

Act & Rules and instructions & Directions issued by the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs on the

subject.

3.

Tenure.

The term of the Committee will be three years from the date of formation provided that:-

(a)

Members of Parliament who are the members of the Committee shall cease to be members as soon as they

cease to be Members of Parliament.

(b)

Ex-officio Members of the Committee shall continue as Members as long as they hold the office by virtue

of which they are Members of the Committee.

(c)

If a vacancy arises, on the Committee due to resignation or death of a Member, the Member appointed in

that capacity shall hold the office for the residual term of three years.

(d)

Tenure of the Committee can be extended or curtailed in the special circumstances.

Travelling and other allowances

Non Official members of the Committee will be paid travelling allowance and daily allowance for attending

meetings of the Committee at the rates prescribed as per O.M. No. II/20034/4/86-O.L.(A-2) dated 22^nd January, 1987 of

Department of Official language and in accordance with the prescribed rates and rules as amended from time to time by the

Government of India.

5.

General

Headquarter of the Committee will be at New Delhi, but it may hold its meetings at any other station also.
