2.

Functions of the Committee

The functions of the Committee will be to advise on matters relating to progressive use of Hindi in the Ministry of

Food Processing Industries and its Autonomous/Academic Institutions in accordance with policies laid down by the

Department of Official Language.

3.

Tenure

The term of the Committee will be three years from the date of its composition Provided that:-

(a)

A Member of Parliament who is a member of this Committee Shall cease to be a member of the Committee as

soon as he ceases to be a Member of Parliament.

(b)

Ex-officio members of the Committee shall continue as member as long as they hold office by virtue of which

they are members of the committee.

(c)

If a vacancy arises in the Committee due to resignation, death etc. of a member, the member appointed in that

capacity shall hold office for the residual term.

The headquarters of the Committee shall be New Delhi but the Committee may hold its meetings at any other station

also.

5.

Traveling and other allowances

The non-official members of the Committee shall be paid traveling and daily allowances for attending the meeting

of the Committee as per the guidelines contained in O.M.No.II/20034/4/86-OL (A-2) dated 22 January, 1987 of Department

of Official Languages and at the Prescribed rates and as Per rules amended by Government of India from time to time.

It is ordered that a copy of the Resolution be communicated to all members of the Committee, Prime Minister’s

office, Cabinet Secretariat, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Lok Sabha Secretariat, Rajya Sabha Secretariat, Planning

Commission, President’s Secretariat, Vice-President’s Secretariat, Office of the Parliamentary Committee on Official

Lauguage, Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Election Commission of India, Union Public Service Commission,

Principal Pay and Account Office, Ministry of food Processing Industries, Subordinate Office/Autonomous body of Ministry

of Food Processing Industries and all Ministres/Departments of the Government of India.

It is also ordered that the resolution be Published in the Gazette of India for general information.
