2. Functions: The functions of the Samiti will be to advise the Ministry of Labour & employment and its attached
and subordinate offices on matters relating to the progressive use of Hindi for official purpose.
3. Tenure:The term of the Samiti will be three years from the date of its constitution. Members of Parliament, who
are also members of the Samiti, shall cease to be members of the Samiti on dissolution of the House or on expiry of their
terms or on otherwise ceasing to be members of the House. Ex-officio members of the Samiti shall continue as members as
long as they hold the office by virtue of which they are members of the Samiti.
4. Headquarter: The Headquarter of the Samiti shall be at New Delhi.
5. Travelling & Other Allowances:The samiti will be a high level committee.The Non-official members will be paid
travelling, the daily allowance for attending the meetings of the Samiti at the rates fixed by the Government of India from
time to time.
