New Delhi, the 3rd November, 2017

S.R.O. 93.—In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution and in

supersession of the Indian Air Force, Entry Level Non-Industrial Group ‘C’ posts (Cooks) Recruitment Rules, 2013

except as respects things done or omitted to be done before supersession, the President hereby makes the following rules

regulating the method of recruitment to the posts of Non-Industrial Group ‘C’ post in Cooks grade in the Indian Air

Force, namely:—

Short title and commencement .—(1) These rules may be called the Ministry of Defence, Indian Air Force,

Non-Industrial Group ‘C’ posts (Cooks) Recruitment Rules, 2017.

They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

These rules shall apply to the posts specified in column (1) of the Schedule annexed to these rules.

Number of posts, classification and level in the pay matrix .—The number of the posts, their classification

and level in the pay matrix attached thereto shall be as specified in columns (2) to (4) of the said Schedule.

Method of recruitment, age-limit, qualifications, etc .—The method of recruitment to the said posts, age-

limit, educational qualifications and other matters relating thereto shall be as specified in columns (5) to (13) of the

aforesaid Schedule.

Disqualification . —No person , –

(a) Who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living; or

(b) Who, having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person,

shall be eligible for appointment to the said posts:

Provided that the Central Government may, if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personal law

applicable to such person and other party to the marriage and that there are other grounds for so doing, exempt any

person from operation of this rule.

Power to relax .—Where the Central Government is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient so to do, it

may, by order and for reasons to be recorded in writing, relax any of the provisions of these rules with respect to any

class or category of persons.

Saving .—Nothing in these rules shall affect reservation, relaxation of the age limit and other concessions

required to be provided for the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, Ex-servicemen and other special categories of

persons in accordance with the orders issued by the Central Government from time to time in this regard.

(i) Persons having five years of regular service in the Cook Grade II in level-3 in the pay matrix rendered after

appointment thereto on a regular basis; failing which by–

(ii) persons having eight years of combined service in Cook Grade II in level-3 in the pay matrix and Cook Ordinary

Grade or erstwhile Cook grade in level-2 in the pay matrix put together, provided that the individuals must have

New Delhi, the 27th October, 2017

S.R.O. 95.—In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution, and in

supersession of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (Civilian Drivers) Recruitment Rules, 2003,

except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the President hereby makes the following

rules regulating the method of recruitment to the Civilian Driver posts in the Defence Research and Development

Organisation, Ministry of Defence, namely:-

Short title and commencement.—(1) These rules may be called the Defence Research and Development

Organisation, Ministry of Defence, Vehicle Operator ‘A’, Vehicle Operator ‘B’ and Vehicle Operators ‘C’ Recruitment

Rules, 2017.

They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

Number of posts, classification and pay level in the pay matrix.—The number of the said posts, their

classification and the pay level in the pay matrix attached thereto shall be as specified in columns (2) to (4) of the

Schedule annexed to these rules.

Method of recruitment, age-limit and other qualifications, etc.—The method of recruitment, age-limit,

qualifications and other matters relating to the said posts shall be as specified in columns (5) to (13) of the Schedule

aforesaid.

Disqualifications. —No person,-

(a)

who, has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living; or

(b)

who, having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person,

shall be eligible for appointment to any of the said post :

Provided that the Central Government may, if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personal law

applicable to such person and the other party to the marriage and that there are other grounds for so doing, exempt any

person from the operation of this rule.

Power to relax.—Where the Central Government is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient so to do, it

may, by order and for reasons to be recorded in writing, relax any of the provisions of these rules with respect to any

class or category of persons or posts.

Saving. —Nothing in these rules shall affect reservations, relaxation of age-limit and other concessions

required to be provided for the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, the other Backward Classes, Ex-Servicemen and

other special categories of persons in accordance with the orders issued by the Central Government from time to time.

Vehicle Operator ‘B’ in Level-4 (Rs.25500-81100) in the pay matrix with five years of regular service in the grade or

with a combined service of thirteen years in the posts of Vehicle Operator ‘B’ and Vehicle Operator ‘A’ subject to

passing of proficiency test covering the following aspects:

(a)

Ability to read English numerals and figures.

(b)

Thorough knowledge of traffic regulations.

(c)

Ability to locate faults and carry out minor running repairs.

(d) Ability to change wheels and correctly inflate tyres.

(e)

Knowledge of petrol and diesel engine working.

(f)

Ability to pre-conceive faults likely to occur and carry out preventive maintenance.

Note 1: Where juniors who have completed their qualifying eligibility service are being considered for promotion, their

seniors shall also be considered provided they are not short of the requisite qualifying or eligibility service or two years,

whichever is less and have successfully completed their probation period for promotion to the next higher grade, along

with their juniors who have already completed such qualifying service.
