No. DOR.No.Ret.BC.54/12.01.001 /2019-20—Whereas, the Central Government has, in exercise of the powers

conferred by section 9 of the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act,1970 (5 of 1970) and

section 9 of the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1980 (40 of 1980), accorded its

sanction, vide notification G.S.R 156 (E) dated March 04, 2020 published in the Gazette of India on March 04, 2020 to the

amalgamation of Allahabad bank into Indian bank with effect from April 01, 2020;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of sub section (6) of section 42 of the Reserve

Bank of India Act, 1934 (2 of 1934), the Reserve Bank of India hereby directs the exclusion of Allahabad bank from the

Second Schedule to the said Act with effect from April 01, 2020 as those banks would cease to carry on banking business

with effect from that date.

Bank of India Act, 1934 (2 of 1934), the Reserve Bank of India hereby directs the exclusion of Andhra Bank and Corporation

Bank from the Second Schedule to the said Act with effect from April 01, 2020 as those banks would cease to carry on

banking business with effect from that date.

cease to carry on banking business with effect from that date.
