(ख) सिमित के पदेन सद᭭य उस समय तक सद᭭य बने रहᱶगे जब तक वे उन पदᲂ पर हᱹ, िजनके कारण वह सिमित के सद᭭य हᱹ।

यिद िकसी सद᭭य के ᭜यागपᮢ अथवा मृ᭜यु आिद के कारण सिमित मᱶ कोई ᭭थान िरᲦ होता है तो उसके ᭭थान पर िनयुᲦ िकए

Functions

The functions of the Samiti will be to advise the Rajya Sabha Secretariat regarding progressive use of Hindi in

official work. At least two meetings of the Samiti may be held in a calendar year.

Tenure

The term of the reconstituted Samiti will be three years from the date of formation provided that:—

(a)

Members of Rajya Sabha who are the members of the Samiti shall cease to be members as soon as they cease

to be Members of Rajya Sabha.

(b)

Ex-officio Members of the Samiti shall continue as Members as long as they hold the office by virtue of which

they are Members of the Samiti.

(c)

If a vacancy arises, on the Samiti due to resignation or death of a Member, the Member appointed in that

capacity shall hold the office for the residual period of the tenure of three years.

General

Joint Secretary holding the charge of Official Language Section of Rajya Sabha Secretariat will co-ordinate the

meetings of the Samiti and the Rajbhasha Anubhag of the Rajya Sabha Secretariat will provide secretarial assistance to the

Samiti.

Travelling and other allowances

The non-official members will be paid Travelling Allowance and Daily Allowance for attending the meetings

of the Samiti at the prescribed rates as amended from time to time by the Government of India and instructions contained in

O.M. No.II/20034/4/86-O.L.(A-2) dated the 22nd January, 1987 of the Department of Official Language.
