िं. 10-5/2024-यू.3(ए)—जबदक, िेंट पीटिस इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ हायर एजुकेिन एंड ररिर्स (िम शिश्वशिद्यालय), र्ेन्नई ने बैंगलोर

एजुकेिनल ट्रस्ट के शनम्नशलशित िंबद्ध कॉलेजों को पररिर्तसत करके बेंगलुरु, कनासटक में एक ऑफ-कैंपि केंद्र िुरू करने के शलए यूजीिी पोटसल पर

एक ऑनलाइन आिेिन प्रस्तुत दकया:—

i.

बैंगलोर कॉलेज ऑफ इंजीशनयररंग एंड टेक् नोलॉजी, बेंगलुरु;

ii.

बैंगलोर कॉलेज ऑफ एजुकेिन, बेंगलुरु;

iii.

बैंगलोर कॉलेज ऑफ आर्टिस एंड िाइंि, बेंगलुरु; तथा

iv.

बैंगलोर कॉलेज ऑफ नर्ििंग िाइंिेज, बेंगलुरु

2. और जबदक, यूजीिी ने दिनांक 24.06.2024 के अपने पत्र िंख्या 40-5/2024 (िीपीपी-आई/डीयू) के माध्यम िे िूशर्त दकया दक

यूजीिी स्थायी िशमशत ने यूजीिी (िम शिश्वशिद्यालय िंस्थान) शिशनयम, 2023 के अनुिार आिेिन की जांर् की और कुछ ितों के िाथ आिय

पत्र (एलओआई) जारी करने की शिफाररि की। यूजीिी के अध्यक्ष ने यूजीिी स्थायी िशमशत की शिफाररिों को स्िीकार कर शलया।

3. और आगे, जबदक यूजीिी की िलाह पर शिर्ार करते हुए, मंत्रालय ने बेंगलुरु में ऑफ-कैंपि िुरू करने िे पहले शनम्नशलशित ितों

को पूरा करने के शलए िेंट पीटिस इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ हायर एजुकेिन एंड ररिर्स (मान् यता प्राप् त शिश्वशिद्यालय), र्ेन्नई को दिनांक 15.07.2024 को

आिय पत्र (एलओआई) जारी दकया:—

i.

िेंट पीटर इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ हायर एजुकेिन एंड ररिर्स (मान् यता प्राप् त शिश् िशिद्यालय) बेंगलुरु में ऑफ-कैंपि िेंटर के शलए

पट्टा करार को निीनीकृत करके पट्टे की अिशि को 30 िाल िे कम नहीं बढाएगा।

ii.

प्रस्ताशित ऑफ-कैंपि केंद्र में तीन कॉलेज िाशमल होंगे: (क) बैंगलोर कॉलेज ऑफ इंजीशनयररंग एंड टेक् नोलॉजी, बेंगलुरु;

(ि) बैंगलोर कॉलेज ऑफ एजुकेिन, बेंगलुरु; और (ग) बैंगलोर कॉलेज ऑफ आर्टिस एंड िाइंि, बेंगलुरु।

iii.

बैंगलोर एजुकेिनल ट्रस्ट तीन कॉलेजों अथासत् (क) बैंगलोर कॉलेज ऑफ इंजीशनयररंग एंड टेक् नोलॉजी, बेंगलुरु; (ि) बैंगलोर

कॉलेज ऑफ एजुकेिन, बेंगलुरु; और (ग) बैंगलोर कॉलेज ऑफ आर्टिस एंड िाइंि, बेंगलुरु की िंपूर्स र्ल और अर्ल परर

िंपशि को िेंट पीटिस इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ हायर एजुकेिन एंड ररिर्स ट्रस्ट को हस्तांतररत करेगा।

4. और जबदक, रशजस्ट्रार, िेंट पीटिस इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ हायर एजुकेिन एंड ररिर्स (िम शिश् िशिद्यालय), र्ेन्नई ने दिनांक 26.07.2024

के पत्र के माध्यम िे, एलओआई की ितों की पूर्तस के िंबंि में अनुपालन ररपोटस प्रस्तुत की, शजिे बाि ित्यापन और िलाह के शलए यूजीिी को

भेजा गया था। यूजीिी ने दिनांक 04.09.2024 के पत्र के माध्यम िे िूशर्त दकया दक अनुपालन ररपोटस को स्थायी िशमशत द्वारा स्िीकार कर

शलया गया।

5. अब, इिशलए, यूजीिी अशिशनयम, 1956 की िारा 3 के तहत प्रिि िशियों का प्रयोग करते हुए, शिक्षा मंत्रालय, यूजीिी की िलाह

पर, एति् द्द्वारा िेंट पीटिस इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ हायर एजुकेिन एंड ररिर्स (मान् यता प्राप् त शिश् िशिद्यालय), र्ेन्नई को बेंगलुरु में एक ऑफ-कैंपि िेंटर

िुरू करने का अनुमोिन िेता है, शजनमें (i) बैंगलोर कॉलेज ऑफ इंजीशनयररंग एंड टेक् नोलॉजी, बेंगलुरु; (ii) बैंगलोर कॉलेज ऑफ एजुकेिन,

बेंगलुरु; और (iii) बैंगलोर कॉलेज ऑफ आर्टिस एंड िाइंि, बेंगलुरु िाशमल होंगे।

No. 10-5/2024-U.3(A)—Whereas, St. Peter’s Institute of Higher Education and Research (Deemed to be

University), Chennai submitted an online application on UGC Portal to start an off-campus Centre at Bengaluru,

Karnataka by converting the following affiliated colleges of Bangalore Educational Trust:—

i.

Bangalore College of Engineering & Technology, Bengaluru;

ii.

Bangalore College of Education, Bengaluru;

iii.

Bangalore College of Arts & Science, Bengaluru; and

iv.

Bangalore College of Nursing Sciences, Bengaluru

2. And whereas, UGC, vide its letter No. 40-5/2024 (CPP-I/DU) dated 24.06.2024, informed that UGC

Standing Committee examined the application as per the UGC (Institutions deemed to be Universities) Regulations,

2023 and recommended for issuance of Letter of Intent (LoI) with certain conditions. The Chairman, UGC accepted

the recommendations of UGC Standing Committee.

3. And further whereas, considering the advice of UGC, the Ministry issued Letter of Intent (LoI) on

15.07.2024 to St. Peter’s Institute of Higher Education and Research (Deemed to be University), Chennai for

fulfillment of the following conditions before starting an off-campus at Bengaluru:—

i.

St. Peter's Institute of Higher Education and Research (Deemed to be University) shall extend the

lease period for not less than 30 years by renewing the lease agreement for off-campus centre at

Bangalore.

ii.

The proposed off-campus centre shall consist of three colleges, namely: (a) Bangalore College of

Engineering & Technology, Bengaluru; (b) Bangalore College of Education, Bengaluru; and

(c) Bangalore College of Arts & Science, Bengaluru.

iii.

Bangalore Educational Trust shall transfer the entire moveable and immoveable assets of three

colleges; namely (a) Bangalore College of Engineering & Technology, Bengaluru; (b) Bangalore

College of Education, Bengaluru; and (c) Bangalore College of Arts & Science, Bengaluru to

St. Peter's Institute of Higher Education and Research Trust.

4. And whereas, Registrar, St. Peter’s Institute of Higher Education and Research (Deemed to be

University), Chennai, vide letter dated 26.07.2024, submitted compliance report in respect of fulfilment of the

conditions of the LoI which was then sent to UGC for verification and advice. UGC, vide letter dated 04.09.2024,

informed that the compliance report was accepted by the Standing Committee.

5. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, the Ministry

of Education, on the advice of UGC, hereby accords approval to St. Peter’s Institute of Higher Education and

Research (Deemed to be University), Chennai to start an off-campus Centre at Bengaluru consisting of (i) Bangalore

College of Engineering & Technology, Bengaluru; (ii) Bangalore College of Education, Bengaluru; and

(iii) Bangalore College of Arts & Science, Bengaluru.

6. St. Peter’s Institute of Higher Education and Research (deemed to be University), Chennai shall abide

by all other conditions mentioned in the earlier Notification(s) of this Ministry as well as provisions of the Rules/

Regulations of UGC and other Statutory Councils, issued from time to time.
