No. 08/04/V. S. E./2018. -

WHEREAS, in accordance with the provision of clause (l) ofArticle 172 of the

Constitution of India, the existing Legislative Asssembly of the State of Chhattisgarh, unless sooner dissolved, shall

continue up to and including the 05-01-2019 and shall thereafter, stand dissolved on the expiration ofits duration; and

WHEREAS, in terms of sub-section ( 1) of Section 15 ofthe Representation ofthe People Act, l95l ⁽⁴³ of ¹ 95 I ),

a General Election has to be held for the purpose of constituting a new Legislative Assembly of the State;

NOW THEREFORE, as recommended by the Election Commission of India, in pursuance of sub-section ⁽²⁾ of

Section I 5 ofthe Representation ofthe People Act, I 95 I ⁽⁴³ of 195 I ), the Governor of the State of Chhattisgarh is hereby

pleased to call upon each of the Assembly Constituencies of the State specified in the Table below, to elect members to

the Legislative Assembly of the State, in accordance with the provision of the said Act and of the rules and orders made

there under.
