No. F-07-1/2O19/Census/Home-2. -In pursuance of rule 8 (i) (a) of the Census

Rules, L99O, and in supersession of vide Notilication No.F-07-1/2019/Census/Home-2,

dated 29th M"y, 2019, the State Government, hereby, republishes the Notification

No.S.O.1455(E), dated 26th March, 2Ol9 of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of

India, for general information, as follows:-

NOTIFICATION

S.O.1455(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 of the Census Act,

1948 (37 of 1948), the Central Government, hereby, declares that a census of the

population of India shall be taken during the year 2021. The reference date for the census

shall, except for the State of Jammu and Kashmir and snow bound non- synchronous areas

of states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, be 00.00 hours of the first day of March,

202t;

Provided that for the State of Jammu and Kashmir and snow bound non-

synchronous areas of states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, the reference date shall

be 00.00 hours of the first day of October, 2O2O.
