NOTIFICATION

No. F 10-16/2018116.- The following further draft amendment in the Chhattisgarh Industrial

Employment (Standing Orders) Rules 1963, which the State Government in exercise of the powers conferred by

sub-section (l) and (2) of Section 2l of the Chhattisgarh Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act, 1961

(No. 26 of 196l), proposes to make, is hereby, published as required under sub-section (3) of Section 2l of the

said Act, for the information of all persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is hereby given that the said

draft shall be taken into consideration after expiry of thirty days from the date of publication of this notification

in the OfficialGazette.

Any objection or suggestion regarding the said draft received from any person before the specified

period during office hours, by Offrce of the Deputy Secretar5z, Government of Chhattisgarh, Department of

Labour, Mantralaya, Mahanadi Bhawan, Atal Nagar, Raipur, shall be considered by the Government of

Chhattisgarh.

DRAFT AMENDMENT

In the said rules,-

In Annexure, in rule 2, after clause (vi), the following shall be added, namely:-

"(vii) (a)" Fixed term employment employee" means an employee who has been engaged on the

basis of contract of employment for a fixed period. However, his working hours, wages,

allowances and other benefits shall not be less than that of a permanent employee. He shall

also be eligible for all statutory benefits available to a permanent employee proportionately

according to the period of service rendered by him even if his period of employment does

not extend to the qualiffing period of employment required in the statute.

(b) No workman employed on fixed term employment basis as a result of non-renewal of

contract or employment or on its expiry, shall be entitled to any notice or pay in lieu thereof

if his services are terminated."
