In view of the difficulties faced in the operation of passenger buses, as a

result of epidemic of corona virus (Covid-19) and due to difficult circumstances arising from lockdown, the State

Government, in exercise of the powers conferrned by sub-section (1) of Section 21 of the Chhattisgarh Motoryan

Karadhan Adhiniyam, 1991 (No. 25 of 1991), heraby, exempts, in payment of motor vehicle tax in respect of passenger

vehicles as follows-

1.

(a) Exemption in Submission of advance monthly tax payable for a period of July, 2021, subject to the

restrictions and conditions specified under rule 11 and 12 of the Chhattisgarh Motoryan Karadhan Rules, 1991.

(b) After 31st July 2021, the provision for depositing monthly tax in advance shall automatically become

effective.

2.

This notification shall come into force with retrospective effect from 01st April 2021.

As a result of Corona Virus (Covid-19), Pandemic circumstances, buses

were not conducting regularly, therefore, In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 65 of the Motor Vehicle Act,

1988 (No. 59 of 1988), the State Government, hereby, makes the following further amendment in the Chhattisgarh Motor

Vehicles Rules, 1994, namely:-

AMENDMENT

In the Said rules:-

In proviso of sub-rule (2) of rule 77, for the figures and words “31st march of 2021” , the figures and words “31st

July of 2021” shall be substituted.

This amendment shall come into force with effect from the date of 01st April, 2021.
