No. F 1-26/2020/XVII-1.ó The Government of Chhattisgarh is satisfied that the Stae is threatened with the

spread of Covid-19 Epidemic day to day, which has already been declared as Pandemic by World Health Organization;

Whereas, medical oxygen supply is very crucial in the management of patients infected with Covid-19. With

increasing number of cases of Covid-19 in the state, the consumption of oxygen is going up exponentially;

Whereas, lack of medical oxygen may affect the managemnet of critically ill patients of the Covid-19 and

also may adversely affect the final outcome of the Covid-19 patients;

Hence, considering the above circumstances, Government of Chhattisgarh has now decided to regularize and

determined the circulation and supply of medical oxygen from production unit/industry/institutions located within

state of Chhattisgarh;

Therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 2 of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 (No. 3 of

1897), Section 84 read with Section 141 of the Chhattisgarh Public Health Act, 1949 (No. 36 of 1949) and for the

purposes of the proper implementation of the Chhattisgarh Epidemic Disease Covid-19 Regulation, 2020 and in order

to address the management of Covid-19 patients in terms of oxygen supply and increasing demand of medical oxygen,

the Government of Chhattisgarh hereby, directs (orders) “Oxygen Production unit/industry/institutions” located in

the State, that-

1.

All unit/industry/institutions should ensure that production of oxygen is uninterrupted and the

production should be as per their maximum production capacity.

2.

80% of the production to be used only for medical oxygen and it has to be supplied to the hospitals

and priority should be given to hospitals in Chhattisgarh state.

3.

Production units can divert only up to 20% of the oxygen generaated for industrial use.

4.

Priority shall be given to the hospitals over industries, in case, need arises for medical oxygen gas.

In this situation, the allocated 20% of the oxygen gas for the insustries may also be used for the treatment of

Covid-19 patients.

The competent authority shall be Commissioner Health Services and Controller, Food and

Drugs Administration, Govt. of Chhattisgarh.

(2)

At divisional level the Divisional Commissioner shall be the competent authority.

(3)

At district level the District Magistrate shall be the competent authority.

This notification shall come in to effect immediately and could remain in operation till 31^st

October, 2021
