No. 2834/571/2019/16.⸺ In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (5) of Section 1 of the

Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948 (No. 34 of 1948), the State Government, in consultation with the

Employees’ State Insurance Corporation and with the approval of the Central Government vide letter No. S-

38025/07/2020-SS-1, dated 09-06-2021, hereby, extends the provisions of the Act to the class of establishments

specified in the Schedule annexed hereto, namely:-

Areas in which the establishments are situated

Municipal bodies including Municipal Corporation,

Municipal Counsels, Nagar Palika and Other Urban

Local Bodies run by the State Government wherein

ten or more persons on casual or contractual or both,

basis are employed, or were employed for wages on

any day of the preceding twelve months.

All areas where provisions of the Employees’ State

Insurance Act, 1948 (No. 34 of 1948) have already

been brought into force under sub-section (3) of

Section 1 of the Act.
