NOTIFICATION

No. F 5-5/2024/18.  In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 355 read with Section 338 of the

Chhattisgarh Municipalities Act, 1961 (No. 37 of 1961), the State Government, hereby, makes the following

further amendment in the Chhattisgarh Municipal Accounts Rules, 1971, namely:-

AMENDMENT

In the said rules,-

1. In sub-rule (1) of rule 81, for the words "Chief Municipal Officer shall submit the documents, with his

opinion to the competent authority for payment order" the words, "Chief Municipal Officer shall be

competent to issue payment order on each bill or voucher" shall be substituted.

2. Sub-rule (2) of rule 81 shall be omitted.

3. For sub-rule (2) of rule 90, the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely:-

“(2) Cheques and E-payment shall be prepared by Accountant. The Chief Municipal Officer shall be

authorized to sign and issue cheques and e-payment. List of payment order, cheques and e-

payment issued, by the Chief Municipal Officer shall be sent to President within next three

working days for information."

4. In Form 62, the word "President" shall be omitted.
