NOTIFICATION

No. F- 10-16/2018/16.— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (l) and (2) of Section 2l of

the Chhattisgarh Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act, 1961 (No. 26 of 196l), the State Government,

hereby, makes the following further amendment in the Chhattisgarh Industrial Employment (Standing Orders)

Rules 1963, the same having been previously published as required by sub-section (3) of Section 21 of the said

Act, namely :-

AMENDMENT

In the said rules,-

In Annexure, after clause (vi) of rule 2, the following clause shall be added, namely :-

"(vii) (a)

"Fixed term employment employee" means an employee who has been engaged on the basis of

contract of employment for a fixed period. However, his working hours, wages, allowances and

other benefits shall not be less than that of a permanent employee. He shall also be eligible for all

statutory benefits available to a permanent employee proportionately according to the period of

service rendered by him even if his period of employment does not extend to the qualifying period

of employment required in the statute.

(b)

No workman employed on fixed term employment basis as a result of non-renewal of contract or

employment or on its expiry, shall be entitled to any notice or pay in lieu thereof, if his services

are terminated.

(c)

He shall be eligible for gratuity if he renders service under the contract for a period of one year. "
