Chhattisgarh Motor Vehicles Rules, 1994, which the State Government proposes to make in
exercise of the powers conferred by Section 65 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (No. 59 of
1988), is hereby, published as required by sub-section (1) of Section 212 of the said Act, for
the information of all persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is hereby given that the
said draft shall be taken into consideration on the expiry of 30 days from the date of

2. No fee shall be payable if the applicant is bonafide agriculturist and has made an application for
grant/renewal of permit or for grant of temporary permit as specified in clause 8, 13 and 36 (b) of rule
145 for tractor or trolley owned by him.
3. Only 50% of the proposed for under rule 145 shall be payable by the applicants belonging to Scheduled
Castes/Schedule Tribes/Other Backward Classes categories and minority community who make an
application for vehicles, purchased out of loans and under their ownership, obtained under such
schemes and conditions as specified by the State Government, from time to time.
4. Applicant of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe category of Chhattisgarh shall have to pay only 50% of
the specified fee under rule 145.
Explanation-
A. The expression “bonafide agriculturist” shall have the same meaning as given to it in the Chhattisgarh
Land Revenue Code, 1959 (No. 20 of 1959).
B. For applicants belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, a certified copy of the Caste Certificate
issued by the Competent Authority of the State of Chhattisgarh shall have to be submitted along with
the application for renewal of permanent or temporary permit approval as far as possible. ”
