New Delhi, the 1st January 1960

S.O. 81.—Whereas the Central Government is satisfied

that it is expedient

so to do; now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 30A of

the Mines and Minerals (Regulation and Development) Act 1957 (67 of 1057) and

in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the late Ministry

of Steel, Mines and Fuel (Department of Mines and Fuel), No. S.O- 3094, dated

the 29th December, 1961, the Central Government hereby directs that the pro-

visions of sub-section (1) of section 9 of the said Act shall apply, with immediate

effect, to or in relation to mining leases in respect of coal, granted before the 25th

day of October, 1949.
