IMPORT TRADE CONTROL

SUBJECT:—Import policy for

Coal-tar dyes

(S. No. 1-B/III)—April 1965—March

1968.

No. 25-ITC(PN)/66.—Attention is invited to Appendix 40 to the Import Trade

Control Policy Book (Red Book) for the period April, 1965—March, 1966 relating

to import of Coal-tar dyes (S. No. 1-B/III) as amended.

2. The import of specific items of dyes has been banned from time to time

in view of progressive increase in the indigenous production of such items and the

need for import substitution. As a further step in the direction of import substi-

tution, it has now been decided to permit the import of only those items of Coal-

tar dyes, a list of which is given in the Annexure to this

Public Notice

No

import licences will be issued hereafter for import of Coal-tar dyes not included

in the Annexure to this Public Notice. All other coal-tar dyes not mentioned in

this list will be deemed to have been banned for imports.

3. This Public Notice incorporating the list of permissible Coal-tar dyes will

supercede all previous Public Notices banning the import of different varieties of

Coal-tar dyes.
