New Delhi, the 29th October 1963

S.O. 3385.—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 1 of

the Standards of Weights and Measures Act, 1956 (89 of 1956), the Central Govern-

ment hereby appoints the 1st day of December, 1956 as the date on which the said

Act shall, in relation to all classes of undertakings and all classes of goods (except

those classes of undertakings and those classes of goods in respect of which all or

any of the provisions have already been brought into force), come into force in the

whole of India except the districts of Tuensang and Mokokchung in the State of

Nagaland.

S.O. 3386.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 14 of the Standards of

Weights and Measures Act, 1956 (89 of 1956), read with the notification of the

Government of India in the

Ministry

of

Commerce No. S.O.

3385, dated

the 29th October, 1966, the Central Government hereby permits the continuance of

the use, in the whole of India, for a period of one year from the 1st of December,

1966 of any scale of temperature which was in use immediately before that date.
