New Delhi-11, the 21st December 1966

S.Q- 3953-—In pursuance of clause (1) of article 239 of the Constitution, the

President hereby directs that the Lieutenant Governor of the Union territory of

Goa, Daman and Diu shall, subject to the control of the President and until further

orders, exercise the powers and discharge the functions of the Central Govern-

ment under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (1 of 1894) in relation to the said Union

territory, except such of the powers of the Central Government as are

excisable

under the provisos to sub-section (1) of section 55 of the said Act.
