New Delhi, the 6th July 1977

G S.R. 479(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (i) of rule 8 of the Cen-

tral Excise Rules, 1944, read with sub-section (3) of sect on 3 of the Additional Duties of

Excise (Goods of Special Importance) Act, 1957 (58 of 1957), the Central Government hereby

directs that the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Depart-

ment of Revenue and Insurance) specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed, shall fie

further amended in the manner specified for the corresponding entry in column (3) of the

sand Table.

G.S R, 480 (JB).—.In exercise of the power* conferred by ftub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the

Central Excise Rulei, I944J the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in

the notification of the Government of India, Department of Revenue and Banking No. 131/77—

Central Excises, dated the 18th June, I977J namely :—

la the- proviso to the said notification, In item (ll), the following shall be inserted at the

end, namely :—

"subject to the condition that such yarn is purchased by a regiftered htndloom coopera-

tive society or any organisation set up or approved by the Government for the

development of handloomi, and payment for • uch yarn is made by cheque drawn

by such cooperative society or organisation, a-, the case may be, on its own Bank

Account;"
