ORDER

New Delhi, the 16th January, 1978

S.O. 21(E)/18FB/II>RA/78.—Whereas by the Order of

the Government

of India in the Ministry of Industry (Department of Industrial Development)

No. S.O. 840XE)/18A/IDRA/77, dated the 15th December, 1977, the management

of the industrial vindertaking known as Bengal

Chemical and Pharmaceutical

Works Limited, Calcutta, has been taken over under section 18A of the Industrie¹!

(Development and Regulation) Act, 1951 (65 of. 1951), for a penod upto

and

inclusive of the 14th December, 1979 ;

And whereas the Central Government is satisfied that it is necessary so to do

in the interests of the general public with a view to preventing fall in the volume

of production of drugs and Pharmaceuticals ;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of

section 18FB of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the

operation of all the contracts, assurances of property, agreements, settlements.,

awards,

standing orders or other instruments entered into

before the 15th

December, 1977 and in force immediately before the date of publication of

this Order in the Official Gazette and relating to banks and financial institu-

tions, to which the said industrial undertaking or the company owning such

undertaking is a party or which may be applicable to the said industrial under-

taking or company, shall remain suspended for a period of one year from the

date of publication of this Order in the Official Gazette, and that till the rights,

piivileges, obligations and liabilities accruing or arising thereunder before the

said date shall remain suspended for the said period.
