NOTIFICATION

S.O. 35(E).—In pursuance of sub-section (1) of Section 8

of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Orders (Amend-

ment) Act, 1976, the following Order made by the Election

Commission under clause (d) of sub-section (3) of Section 6

of the Act is hereby published :—

ORDER

Whereas under clause (a) of sub-section (3) of Section 6

of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Orders (Amend-

ment) Act, 1976, Ihc proposals of the Election Commission

to amend the Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly

Constituencies Order, 1976, were published in the Gazette of

India and in the official Gazettes of the States ot Andhra

Pradesh, Karnalaka and Maharashtia on 9th September, 1977 ;

And whereas all objections and suggestions received in rela-

tion to the said proposals relating to the States of Andhra

Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra were considered by the

Commission at. public .sittings held at Hyderabad on 26th.

December, 1977 and at New DeiTii on 18th lanuary, 1978 in

respect of the Stale of Andhia Pradesh ; at Bangalore on

28th December, 1977 in respect ol the State of Karnataka ;

and at Bombay on 30th and 31st December, 1977 .ind at

New Delhi on 17th January, 1978 in respect of the State of

Maharashtra ;

The Commission hereby makes the following amendments

in the Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly Consti-

tuencies Order, 1976 (without altering the extent of any con-

stituency as given in such Order) in respect of the Stales of

Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra—

1, In Schedule 1 of the said Order—

Against item 11-Maharashtra, under column 7, the

fijiure "4^V shall be substituted for the figure "3";

IT, In Schedule II of the said Order,

(1) Against item 1-Andhra Pradesh—under column 7,

the figure "15" shall be substituted for the figure

"11" ;

(2) Against item 8—Kainataka—under column 6, the

figure "33" shall be substituted for the figure "29" ;

and

(3) Against item

11—Maharashtra—

(i) Under column 6, the figure "18' shall be substi-

tuted for the figure "17"; and

(ii) Under column 7, the figuie "22" shall be substi-

tuted for the figure "17".

JTJ. In Schedule III of the said Oidci —

(1) In Part A—Pariiamentaiv Constituencies—

(i) In 2-Parvathipuram (ST), in the extent of the

constituency, "10-Salur (ST)" shall be substl-

tuted for "10-Salur" ;

(ii) In 5-Bhadruchalam (ST), in the extent of the

Constituency, "73-Polavaram (ST)"

shall he

.substituted for "73-Polavaram".

(iii) In 39-WarangaI, in the extent of the constituency,

"273-Mulug(ST)" shall be substituted for "273-

Mulug" ; and

(iv) In 41-Naigonda, in the extent of the constituency,

"294-Deverkonda (ST)" shall be substituted for

"294-Deverkonda".

(2) Tn Part B—Assembly Constituencies—

(i) the serial No. and name of the constituency,

"10-Sal'ur (ST)" shall be substituted for "10-

Salur" ;

(ii) the serial No. and name of the constituency,

"73-Polavaram (ST)" shall be

substituted for

"73-PolHvaram" ;

(iii) the serial No. and name of the constituency,

"273-Mulug (ST)" shall be

.substituted for

"273-MiiTug" ; and

(iv) the serial No. and name of. the constituency,

"294-Deverkonda (ST)" shall be substituted for

"294-Dcverkonda".

IV. In Schedule X of the said Order—

(ii) In 12-Bangalorc Noith, in the extent of the

(iii) In 15-Cbamarajanagar (SC), in the extent of the

constituency, "113-T. Nnrasipur (SC)" shall be

.substituted for "113-T. Narasipur" ; nnd

(iv) In 22-Kanara, in the extent of the constiluencv,

"168-Sir.si (SC)" shall he substituted for "16R-

Sirsi".

(2) Tn Part B—Assembly Constituencies—

(i) the serial No. and name of the constituency

"11-Shahabad

(SC)" shall be substituted for

"11-Shahabad" :

(ii) the serial No. and name of the constituency^

"84-Shanthinagar (SC)" shall be substituted for

"84-Sbanthinagar" ;

(iii) the serial No. and name of the constituency,

"113-T. Naraeipur (SC)" shall be substituted

for "113-T. Narasipur"; and

, (iv) the serial No. and name of the constituency,

"168-Sirii (SC)" shall be substituted for "168-

Siisi".

V. In Schedule XIII of the -.aid Order—

(1) In Part A—Parliamentary Constituencies—

(i) In 9-Bombay North, in the extent of the consti-

tuency, "62-Palghar (ST)" shall be substituted

for "62-Palghar" ;

(ii) The iciial No. and name of the constituency

(ST)" shall be

substituted for

tuency, "79-Baglan (ST)" shall be .substituted

for "79-BagIan" ;

(iii) In 15-Nandurbar (ST), in the extent of consti-

(iv) In 26-Chandrapur, in the extent of the consti-

tuency, "152-Gadchiroli (ST)" shall be substi-

tuted for "152-Gadchiroli";

(v) In 28-Yeotmal, in the extent of the constituency,

"162-Kelapur (ST)" shall be substituted for

"162-Kerapnr" ;

(vi) Tn 36-Osmanabad (SC), in the extent of the

constituency, "207-Kallam (SC)" shall be substi-

tuted for •'207-Kallam".

(2) In Pait B—Assembly Constituencies—

(i) The serial No. and name of the constituency,

"62-Palghar (ST)" shall be substituted for "62-

Palghar" ;

(ii) The sciial No. and name of the constituency,

"79-Baglan (ST)" shall be substituted for "79-

Baglan" ;

(iii) The serial No. and name of the constituency,

"82-Nandurbar (ST)" shalf be .substituted for

"82-Nandurbar" ;

(iv) The sciial No. and name of the constituency,
