CENTRAL EXCISES

G.S.R. 87(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of

section 3 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944) and in super-

session of the notification of the Government of India in

the

Ministry

of

Finance (Department of Revenue) No, 367/77-Contral Excises, dated the 31st

December, 1977, the Central Government hereby fixes a tariff value of two

hundred seventy rupees per quintal for sugar falling under sub-item (1) of item

No. 1 of the First Schedule

to

the said

Act

and

chargeable with

duty

ad-valorem',

Provided that nothing contained in this notification shall apply to sugar

required by the Central Government to be sold under Clause (f) of sub-section

(2) of section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955).
