NOTIFICATIONS

New Delhi, the 1st March, 1978

S.O. 131 (E).—Whereas a vacancy has occurred in the

House of the People by reason of the resignation of Shri

Bhagwat Dayal Sharma, elected to that House from 3-Karnal

Parliamentary Constituency in the Stale of Haryana;

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions of sub-

section (1) of section 149 of the Representation of the

People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), the Election Commission

hereby calls upon the said constituency to elect a parson

to fill the said vacancy before 5 April, 1978 (Wednesday),

in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and the

Rules and Orders made thereunder.

poll shall, if necessary, be taken; and

5 April, 1978 (Wednesday), as the date before

which the election shall be completed.

S.O. 133 (E).—In pursuance of section 56 of the Repre-

sentation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), the Election

Commission hereby fixes the hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

as the hours during which a poll shall, if necessary, be taken

for the bye-election to the House of the People from 3-Karnal

parliamentary constituency to be held in pursuance of its

notification No. 10O/HN-HP/l/77(l), dated 1 March, 1978.
