SO. 585(E).—Whereas a vacancy has occurred in the House

of the People by reason of the resignation of Shri D. B.

Chandre Gowda, a member elected to

that

House

from

20-Chikmagalur parliamentary constituency in the State of

Karnataka;

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions of sub-sec-

tion (1) of section 149 of the Representation of the People

Act. 1951 (43 of 1951), the Election Commission hereby calls

upon the said constituency to elect a person 1o fill the said

vacancy before 8 November, 1978, in accordance with the

provisions of the said Act and of the Rules and Orders made

thereunder.
