NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, ;he 13th December, 1978

G.S.R. 577(JL>.—hi exerciyc of the powers conferred by the proviso to article

309 of the Constitution and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, the

President hereby ir.nkcs the following rules further to amend the Delhi

and

Andaman and Nicolrir Islands Police Service Rules, 1971, namely :—

1. (1) These rules may be called the Delhi and Andaman and Nicobar

Islands Police Service (Fourth Amendment) Rules, 1978,

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in

the

Official Gazette.

2, In the Delhi and Andaman and Nicobar Islands Police Service Rules,

1971—

(a) for sub-rule (3) of rule 3 the following sub-rule shall be substituted,

namely :—•

"(3) The post¹; in Grade I shall be Central Police Group A posts and

those in Grade II sha^:l be Ccn'rnl Police Group B pot-Is. ;

(b) for rule 7, the follow: g rule shall be substituted, namely :—

"7. Nature of Examination.—Until otherwise decided by the Central

Government in consultation with the Commission, the compe'itivc

examination for recrurmenl to the Service shall be (he same

as

the combined Civil Ss"vices Competitive Examination held by

the

Commission for recrui rncnl to the Service and such other service

or service; as may be specified by the Central Government

from

time to time".
