NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 21st December, 1978

G. S. R. 587(E)/Ess. lorn. Sugarcane.—In exercise of the powers conferred by

clause 3 of the Sugarcane (Control) Order, 1966 and having regard to various

factors mentioned in sub-clause (i) thereof, the Central Government, after consul-

tation with such authorities, bodies and associations as arc considered necessary

by it to be consulted, hereby, on the basis of the basic minimum price of sugar-

cane at Rs. 10.00 per quintal linked to a recovery of 8.5 per cent, or below

with a premium of 11.7647 paise per quintal for every 0.1 per cent increase in

recovery above 8.5 per cent, fixes with immediate effect the price specified in

column (3) of the Schedule hereto annexed as the minimum price and shall be

payable by the owners of the vacuum pan process sugar factory specified in the

corresponding entry in column (2) of the said Schedule or their agent for sugar-

cane delivered at the gate of the factory or at any purchasing centre for the sugar

year 1978-79 until the 30th September, 1979 subject to the rebate payable there-

for under clause 3A of the said Order.
