NOTIFICATIONS

New Delhi, the 1st January, 1981

CUSTOMS

G.S.R. 3(E).—In exercise of the powers, conferred by sub-

section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of

1962). the Central Government, being satisfied that it is ne-

cessary in the public interest so to do hereby exempts alumi-

nium scrap, falling within Chapter 76 of the First Schedule

to the Customs Tariff Act. 1975 (51 of 1975), when im-

ported into India. from—

(i) so much of that portion of the duty of customs

leviable thereon, which is specified in the said First

Schedule, as in excess of 35 per cent ad valorem;

and

(ii) the whole of the additional duty leviable thereon

under section 3 of the said second mentioned Act.

2. This notification shall be in force upto and inclusive

of the 31st March, 1981.

CUSTOMS

G.S.R. 4(E)—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-

section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of

1962), read with sub-section (4) of section 4 of the Finance

Act, 1980 (13 of 1980), the Central Government being satis-

fied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby

makes the following amendment in the notification of the

Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department

of Revenue) No.

41-Customs,

dated

March, 1980,

namely :—

In the Schedule annexed to the said notification,

after

seiial No. 270 and the entries relating thereby the following

shall be inserted namely :—

"271. No. 3-Customs, dated 1-1-1981."
