NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 14th January, 1981

CENTRAL EXCISES

G.S.R. 20(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the

Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government hereby

makes the following rules further to amend the Central Excise Rules, 1944.

namely :—

1. (1) These rules may be called the Central Excise (ljt Amendment) Rules

1981.

(2) They shall come into force on the 14th January, 1981.

2. In sub-rule (2) of rule 9 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, for the words

and figures '^Lwilhin the period specified in rule 10" the words, figures and

letters "wilhin the period specified in section 11A of the Act" shall be substituted.
