NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 4th February, 1 *»81

No. F. 401-W & M/81 :—The Government of India have

introduced a Special Deposit Schemo for Investment of a part

of funds of the Life Insurance Corporation of India, General

Insurance Corporation of India ami its subsidiaries and Unit

Trust of India. The Scheme shall come into force ftom 1st

April, 1980.

2. Period of deposit—The deposils will lie for a period of

ten years from the date of investment,

3. Interest—The deposits will carry interest at Ihe rate of

ten percent pei annum from the date of deposit. Inlercsi

will be paid annually on 1st December each year by means of

a cheque or payment order marked "Account payee Only¹'

drawn in favour of the institution concerned.

4. Djposits will bo tendered bj the institutions al offices

of the Reserve flank of India at Bombay, Calcutta, Madias and

New Delhi, together with challan in form A, in duplicate.

5. Refund of deposits before their repayment becomes due

will not be allowed except In ihc circumstances corsidcieu

necessary by the Government.

6. At the end of each financial year ending 31st March,

the doposit office will furnish to each of the depositor institution

a certificate of balances at its credit as at the end of the year.
