New Delhi, the 10th March, 1981

S.O. 160(E).—Whereas a vacancy has occurred

in the

Council of States due to the death of Shri Satyanarayana

Venigalla, a member elected to the Council of States from

Andhra Pradesh before the expiration of his term of office ;

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions of

sub-

section (1) of section 147 of the Representation of the People

Act, 1951, the Election Commission hereby calls upon

the

elected members of the Legislative Assembly of the

State

of Andhra Pradesh to elect, in accordance with the provi-

sions of the said Act and of the rules and orders made

thereunder, a person to fill the vacancy so caused before 30th

March, 1981.

(1) of section 39 of the Representation of the People Act,

1951, the Election Commission hereby appoints for

the

election to the Council of States to be held in pursuance o'

its notification No. 10O/CS-AP/l/3O(l), dated the

March 1981.—

(a) 17th March. 1981 (Tuesday) as the last date

for

making nominations;

(b) 18th March, 1981 (Wednesday) as the date

for

the scrutiny of nominations;

(c) 20th March, 19B1 (Friday), as the last dale

for

the withdrawal of candidatures;

(d) 27th March, 1981 (Friday) as the date on which

a poll shall, if necessary, be taken ; and

(e) 30th March 1981 (Monday), as the date before

which the election shall be completed.

sentation of the People Act, 1951, the Election Commission

hereby fixes the hours from 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. as the

hours during which a poll shall, if necessary be taiken for
