CENTRAL EXCISES

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of

rule 8 of the Cential Excise Rules, 1944, read with sub-section (3) of section

3 of the Additional Duties of Excise (Goods of Special Importance) Act, 1957

(58 of 1957), the Central Government hereby exempts smoking mixture known

as gudaku in the form of granules, falling under sub-item 11(4) of Item No. 4

of the First Schedule to the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944)

from so much of the duty of excise and additional duty of excise leviable

thereon as is in excess of the duty leviable on hookah tobacco, falling under

sub-item 11(7) of Item No. 4 of the said First Schedule read with any notifica-

tion in force issued under sub-rule (1) of the said rule 8.
