New Delhi, the 27th March, 1981

(MERCHANT SHIPPING)

G.S.R. 221(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred liy clauses (d) and (e)

of sub-section 218 and by section 457 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958

(44 of 1958) and of all other powers hereunto enabling, the Central Government

hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Merchant

Shippinn

(Levy of Seamen's Welfare Fee)" Rules, 1974, namely:—

1. Short title and commencement.—(i) These rules may be called the

Merchant Shipping (Levy of Seamen's Welfare Fee) Amendment Rules,

1981.

2. They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the

Official Gazette.

2. In sub-rule (1) of rule 3 of the Merchant Shipping (Levy of Seamen's

Welfare Fee) Rules, 1974, for the words "five rupees", the words "twenty-five

rupees" shall be substituted.
