NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 31st March. 1981

CENTRAL EXCISES

G.S.R. 244(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of

section 3 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944) and in super-

session of notification of the Ooveinment of India in the Ministry of Finance

(Department of Revenue) No. 18A/81-Central Excises, dated the 28th February,

1981 the Central Government hereby fixes a tariff value of Six hundred only

per quintal of Sugar falling under sub-item (1) of Item No. 1 of the First Schedule

to the said Act and chargeable with duty ad valorem:

Provided that nothing contained in this ^ification ihall apply to supar

required by the Central Government to be sold under clause (f) of sub-section

(2) of section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955).

This notification shall come into force on the 1st day of April, 1981.
