New Delhi, the 6th May, 1981

O.N. 6(E).—Whereas a vacancy has occurred in the House-

of the People by the reason of the resignation of Shri H. N.

Bahuguna, a member elected to that House from 2-Garhwal

Parliamentary constituency in the State of Uttar Pradesh;

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions of sub-sec-

tion (1) of section 149 of the Representation of the People

Act, 1951 (43 of 1951). the Election Commission hereby calls

upon the said constituency to elect a person to fill the said

vacency before 18th June, 1981 (Thursday) in accordance with

the provisions of the said Act and of the Rules and Orders

made thereunder.

No. 100|UP-HP|4]80(1), dated the 6th May, 1981.

(a) 13th May, 1981 (Wednesday) as the last d<ilc for

making nominations ;

<b) 14'h May, 1981 (Thursday) m the date for Ihc scuifiny

of nominations ;

lu) 16th May, 1981 (Saturday) as the kit date for ihe

withdrawal of candidatures;

(J) 14th June. 1981 (Sunday) us the date on which a poll

shall, if necessary, be taken; and

(c) 18lh June, 1981 (Thursday) as Ihe date before which

the election shall be completed.

election to the House of the People from 2-Garhwal Pailia-
