NOTIFICATION

O.N. 18(E).—Whereas a vacancy has occurred in the House

£ the People by reason of the death of Shri Dinesh Bhatta-

charjee a member elected to that House from 26-Serampore

constituency in the State of West Bengal;

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions of sub-sec-

tion (1) of section 149 of the Representation of the People

Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), the Election Commission hereby calls

upon the said constituency to elect a person to fill the said

vacancy before 18th June, 1981 (Thursday) in accordance with

the provisions of the said Act and of the Rules and Orders

made thereunder.

O.N. 19(E).—In pursuance of section 30 of the People Act,

1951 (43 of 1951), the Election Commission hereby appoints,

with respect to the bye-election to bo hold in 26-Serampore

Parliamentary Constituency in the State of West Bengal in

pursuance of its notification No. 100/WB-HP7/80(1), dated the

6th May, 1981.

(a) 13th May,

1981 (Wednesday) as Ihe last date

for

making nominations ;

(b) 14th May, 1981 (Thursday) as the date for the scrutiny

of nominations ;

(c) 16th May, 1981 (Saturday) as the last date for the

withdrawal of candidatures;

(d) 14th June, 198.1 (Sunday) as the date on which a poll

shall, if necessary, be taken; and

(e) 18th June, 1981 (Thursday) as the date before which

the election shall be completed.

O.N. 20(E).—In puisuance of section 56 of the Representa-

tion, of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), the Election Com-

mission hereby fixes the hours from 7.30 A.M. to 4.30 P.M.
