CENTRAL EXCISES

&8.R. 569CE).—In exercise of tho powers conferred by sub-section* (2) of

section 3 of (ho Cential Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944) and la superses-

sion of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance

(Department of Revenue) No. 170/81-Central Excises, dated the 30th Septem-

ber, 1981, the Central Government hereby fixes a tariff vtlue of four hundred

seventyflvc rupees per quintal of sugar falling under sub-item (1) erf Item

No. 1 of the First Schedule to

the said Act and chargeable with, duty

ad valorem :

Provided that nothing contained In this notification shall apply to sugar

required by the Central Government to be sold under clause (f) of sub-jectjoa

(2) of section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955).

2. Thin notification shall come into force on the 1st day of November,

1981.
