NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 2nd November, 1981

G.S.R. 573(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of the

rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government, being

sutisfled that it is necessary in the public intedest BO to do, hereby exempts all

goods, falling under the First

Schedule to the Central Excise and Salt Act,

1944 (1 of 1944), for supply to off-shore installations of Computer and Tele-

communication Project for monitoring exploitation and flow of crude and gas

by the Oil and Natural Gas Commission (Project Titan), from the whole of

the duty of excise leviable thereon.:

Provided that before clearance of the said goods a certificate from the

Oil and Natural Gas Commission to the effect that the goods are Intended

for Its off-shore installations, duly countersigned by the Department of Elect-

ronics, shall be produced to the proper Officer,

2. Thfg notification shell remain in force for one year from the date of

its publication in the Official Gazette.
