G.S.R. 575(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by

sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, and

in supersession of the notification of the Government of India

in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No.

213/63-Central Excises, dated the 28th December, 1963, the

Central Government hereby exempts pipes and tubes of cop-

per, or shells and blanks for pipes and tubes of copper,

falling under sub-item (3) and sub-item (4) respectively of

Item No. 26A of the First Schedule to the Central Excises

and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), in the manufacture of which—

(i) copper in any crude form purchased from the market

on or after the 20th day of August, 1966, or

as is equivalent to the duty payable on 1he copper in nny

crude fo;m or waste ..ind scrap of copper, used in huch

manufacture.

sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the

Central Govciument hereby makes the following amendment

in the notificstion of the Government of India in the Ministry

of Finance, Department of Revenue, No. 33/81, duted the

1st March, 1981, namely :—

In the said notification, foj item (b), the- following item

shall be substituted, namely .-

"(b) such waste and scrap arise from products manu-

factured or produced in India ,.nd falling under

any Item Number, other than Item Numbers

26A, 26B, 27 and 27A, of the said Fint Sche-

dule.".
