G.S.R. 589 (E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-

rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central

Government hereby makes the following further amendment

in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry

of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 302/79-Central Excises

dated the 4th December, 1979, namely:—

In the Table annexed to the said notification Serial Nos. 1

and 2 and the entries relating thereto shall be emitted.

sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Centra] Excise Rules, 1944, th«

Central Government hereby makes the following Pmendmciu

in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry

of Finance (Department of Revonue) No. 5/80-CentraI Excises,

dated the 27thFebruary, 1980, namely:—

In the slid notification, for the Table, the following Table

shall be substituted.

Central Government hereby exempts low density polyethylene,

falling under sub-item (1) of Item No. 15Aof the First Schedul

to the Central Excise and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944),and manu.

factured in any industrial undertaking whose rnrirf 1 ]ic«r;<.d

capacity under the provisions of thc Industries (Development

and Regulation) Act, 1951 (65 of 1951) for manufacturing such

lew density polyethylene is less than onelakh tonnes, from so

much of the duty of excise leviable thereon as is in excess of

thirty per cent, ad valorem.
