NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 23rd November, 1981

GAR. 613(E).—In pursuance of rule 7 of the Indian Ad-

ministrative Service (Recruitment) Rules, 1954, the

Central

Government, in

consultation

wllh the State Governments

and the Union Public Service Commission hereby makes

the following regulations to further amend the

Indian Ad-

ministrative Service (Appointment by Competitive Examina-

tion) Regulation*, 1955, namely :—

1. (1) These regulations may be called the Indian

Ad-

ministrative Service (Appointment by Competitive Examina-

tion) Amendment Regulations, 1981.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their

publlcation in the Official Gazette.

2. In the Indian Administrative Service (Appointment

Competitive Examination) Regulations, 1955;

(1) In regulation 4(ttl-a) after the wordt, thre* Bitemptt

at the examination the following shall be inserted,

namely :—

"and the appearance of a candidate at the examina-

tion will be deemed to be an attempt at the

examination irrespective of his disqualification or

cancellation, as the case may be, of his candi-

dature.";

(2) In regulation 11,

(a) in sub-clause (11) of clause (b), the word "and"

occurring at the end shall be omitted ;

(b) after clause (b), the following proviso shall

added, namely :—

"Provided that no penalty under clause (a) or clause (b),

as the case may be shall be imposed except after—

(() giving the candidate

an opportunity of making

such itepresentatfon

In writing as he may wish

to make in that behalf, and

(ii) taking the representation, if any, submitted by the

candidate, within the period allowed to him, into

consideration."
