NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 23rd November, 1981

G.S.R. 614(E).—In pursuance of rule 7 of the Indian Police

Service (Recruitment) Rules, 1954, the Central Govomment,

in consultation with the States Governments and the Union

Public Service Commission hereby makes the following⁷,, regu-

lations to further amend the Indian Police Service (Appoint-

ment

by

Competitive

Examination)

Regulations; 1935,

namely :—

1. (1) These regulations may be called the Indian

Police

Service (Appointment by Competitive Examination)

Amend-

ment Regulations, 1981.

(2) They shall come into force on the date¹ of

their

• publication in the Official Gazette.

2. In the Indian Police Service (Appointment by Competi-

tive Examination) Regulations, 1955;

(1) In regulation 4(iU-a) after the words, three attempt*

at the examination," the following shall be inserted,

namely :—

"and the appearance of a candidate at the examination

will be deemed to be nn attempt at the exami-

nation ii respective of hi8 disqualification or can-

cellation, as the case may be, of his candidature';

(2) in regulation 11,

(n) in *ub-claus* (ii) of clause (b), the word

"and"

occuring at the end shall be omitted;

(b) after clause (b), the following proviso shall be added,

namely ;—

"Provided that

no penalty

under

clause

fa) or

clause (b) as the case may be, shall txs imposed except nfter—

(i) 'giving the candidate an opportunity of

making

such representation in writing QS he may wish to

make in that behalf; and

(ii) taking the representation, if any, submitted

by

"the candidate, within the period allowed to him

into consideration."
