G.3.R. 623(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of

lection 3 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, (1 of 1944) and in super-

wsslun of the notification of the Government of India in the Mipistry of

Finance (Department of Revenue) No, 177/81-Cenual Excises, dated the 31st

October, 1981, the Central Government hereby fixes a tariff vnlue of four

hundred and sixty rupees per quintal of su^ar falling under sub-item (1) of

Item No. 1 of tht First Schedule to the said Act and chargeable with duty

ad-valorem :

Provided that nothing contained in this notification shall apply to sugar

required by tht Central Government lo be sold uruter clause (f) of sub-section

(2) of section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955).

2. This notification shall come Into foiCe on the 1st day of December,

1981.
