NOTIFICATIONS

New Delhi, the 28th December, 1981

S.O. 921(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-

jection (1) of section 3 of the Regional Rural Banks Act.

1976 (21 of 1976), the Central Government, being requested

so to do by State Bank of India, establishes, with effect from

the 29th December, 1981 a Regional Rural Bank in the

State of Meghalaya under the name of Ka Bank Nongkyndong

Ri Khasi Jaintia which shall operate within the local limits

of the districts of East and West Khasi Hills, and Jaintia

Hills in the State of Meghalaya.

S O. 922(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-

section (1) of Section 4 of the Regional Rural Banks Act,

1976 (21 of 1976), the Central Government, after consulta-

tion with the Reserve Bank of India and State Bank of India,

by which Ka Bank Nongkyndong Ri Khasi Jaintia Hills has

been sponsored, specifies Shillong as the place where Ka

Bank Nongkyndong Ri Khasi Jaintia Hills shall have its

head office

S.O. 923(E).—In pursuance of sub-clause (iii) of clause (a)

of sub-section (6) of section 42 of the Reserve Bank of India

Act, 1934 (2 of 1934), the Central Government hereby noti-

fies, for the purposes of the said sub-dause, Ka Bank Nong-

kyndong Ri Khasi Jaintia being an instiiution established

under sub-section (1) of section 3 of the Regional Rural

Banks Act, 1976 (21 of 1976).

1934) the Reserve Bank of India hereby directs the inclusion

in the Second Schedule to the iaid Act of the following bank,

namely:—

"Ka Bank Nongkyndong Ri Khasi Jaintia (Meghalya)".
