No. 209/81-CENTRAL EXCISES

G.S.R. 683(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of

section 3 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944) and in super-

session of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance

(Department of Revenue) No. 191/81-Central Excises, dated the 30th November,

1981, the Central Government hereby fixe^ a tariff value of four hundred a,nd

sixty five rupees per quintal of sugar falling under sub-item (1) of Item No. 1 of

the Flrat Schedule to the said Act and chargeable with duly ad-valorcn :

Provided that nothing contained in this notification shall apply to su^ar re-

quired by the Central Government to be sold under ch.use (f) of subjection (2)

of section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955).

2. This notification shall come into force on the 1st day of January, 1982.
