S.R.O. 41—E.—In exercise of the powers conferred by
section 13 of the National Cadet Corps Act, 1948 (31 of 1948),
the Central Government hereby makes the following rules
further to amend the National Cadet Corps Rules, 1948,
namely :—
1.(1) These rules may be called the National Cadet Corps
(Amendment) Rules, 1981.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their pub-
lication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the National Cadet Corps Rules, 1948,—
(a) in rule 16 for sub-rule (b) the following sub-rule
shall be substituted, namely :—
"(a) unless he has attained the age of 21 years and has
not attained the age of 34 years :
Provided that the Director General National Cadet Corps
may in any suitable case and on successful completion of the
prescribed pre-commission training, appoint a candidate up
to the age of 35 years;"
(b) in rule 22 for the proviso, the following proviso shall
substituted, namely :—
"Provided that if in the opinion of the authority granting
commission, such person continues to be Physically
fit and it is necessary or expedient so to do, such authority may
extend the period of commission of such person, who has
attained the age of 45 years, maximum up to the age of 50
years.','.

Note :—The National Cadet Corps Rules, 1948 published
vide Notification No. 289, dated 19th February, 1949,
in the Gazette of India, 1949, Part I, Section 3, Page
239, have been subsequently amended by the following
