notified dates for conduct of Pre-Test of First Phase of Census of India, 2027 from 10^th

November, 2025 to 30^th November, 2025

With reference to the above cited subject, Gazette Notification No. S. O. 4698(E) dated 16^th

October, 2025 published in Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II - Section-3 – Sub Section (ii) from

the Registrar General and Census Commissioner, India is here by re-published in the Official Gazette

of this U.T. Administration of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu as per the provisions under

Rule 8(i) of the Census Rules 1990 for general information.

का.अ. 4698 (अ).- केंद्रीय सरकार, जनगणना अधधधनयम, 1948 (1948 का 37) की धारा 17 क के साथ

पदित जनगणना धनयम, 1990 के धनयम 6 घ द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तक्तयों का प्रयोग करते हुए, भारत की

जनगणना, 2027 के पहले चरण के पूवा-परीक्षण के संचालन के धलए उक्त अधधधनयम के उपबंधों का

क्तवस्ट्तार करती है। भारत की जनगणना, 2027 के पहले चरण के पूवा परीक्षण अथाात् चयधनत नमूना

क्षेत्रों में मकानसूचीकरण और मकानों की गणना सभी राज्यों और संघ राज्यक्षेत्रों में 10 नवंबर, 2025 से

30 नवंबर, 2025 संचाधलत दकया जाएगा। तारीख 1 नवंबर, 2025 से तारीख 7 नंवबर 2025 तक स्ट्व-गणना

के धलए भी क्तवकल्प होगा।

NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 16^th October, 2025.

S.O. 4698(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by section 17A of the Census Act, 1948 (37 of

1948) read with rule 6D of the Census Rules, 1990, the Central Government hereby extends the

provisions of the said Act for conduct of pre-test of first phase of Census of India, 2027. The pre-test of

first phase of Census of India, 2027 that is Houselisting and Housing Census in selected sample areas

shall be conducted from 10^th November, 2025 to 30^th November, 2025 in all States and Union territories.

There shall also be an option for self-enumeration from 1^st November, 2025 to 7^th November, 2025.
