Delhi, the 7^th March, 2018

F. No. R.48/TO(S)/TC-Felling/17-18/9169-77.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 29 of the Delhi

Preservation of Trees Act, 1994 (Delhi Act 11 of 1994), the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, hereby,

in public interest exempts an area of total 15.5 ha. (approx.) as detailed below for construction of Integrated Transit

Corridor Development plan along Mathura Road, Bhairon Marg, Mahatma Gandhi Marg and connecting Mathura Road

to Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Via Underground tunnel below Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from the provision of sub-section

(3) of section 9 of the said Act.

The said exemption is subject to fulfillment of the following conditions:-.

a) The applicant viz Public Works Department shall make an advance deposit of an amount of Rs. 8,74,95,000/-

(Rupees Eight Crore Seventy Four Lakh, Ninety Five Thousand Only) towards security deposit for creation and

maintenance of compensatory plantation for a period of Seven years as follows,

b) 100% compensatory plantation of 15350 plants by User Agency viz PWD over an area of 13.5 ha. allotted by

DDA at the following locations against felling of 1535 trees will be done and maintained for Seven years and

monitored till its successful establishment in following manner:-

(i) In 5.02 ha. from out of 22.15 ha allotted by DDA vide letter No.F.32(07)/17/IL/3334 dtd. 03.05.2017 in

Yamuna Flood Plains (In between Yamuna Bank Metro Station and Railway Line adjacent to CWG Village

Complex.

(ii) In area of 8.48 ha. allotted by DDA vide letter No. F.32(07)/17/IL/4424 dtd. 13.10.2017 at Yamuna Flood

Plains between ITO Barrage and Yamuna Bank Metro Station.

c) The timber obtained from felling/ transplant of 1535 trees shall be auctioned by the land owning agency and the

proceeds shall be deposited as revenue to the Government.

d) The lops and tops obtained on removal of trees shall be handed over by the Public Works Department to the

officials concerned of Municipal Corporation of Delhi for its use in public crematoria of Delhi free of cost and

receipt so obtained may be deposited with DCF (South).

e) Before shifting of timber if any, from site of removal of trees, transportation permission for transportation of the

said wood shall be obtained from Tree Officer (South).
